Sitting on the northeastern shore of San Pablo Bay is the waterfront city of Vallejo. The city was named after General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, who helped lead the way to California’s statehood and was also one of the first members of the California State Senate. It is the largest city in Solano County, with a population of 120,000. Vallejo residents are proud of their deep history, as well as their culturally and ethnically diverse community.
Vallejo offers affordable housing, with the median selling pirce being $420,000. New homes are being built within the city and many of the old Victorian homes and business have been beautifully restored. Business professionals will love its close 30-mile proximity to San Francisco and the ease of being able to take a ferry there or travel to the city by BART.
